Fashion Revolution Week saw us come into our own, offering a rare opportunity to be present in the community of people and brands calling for a fairer, safer, cleaner, more transparent fashion industry.
Our founder Zepha Jackson got miked up and joined the panel at The Slow, Canggu, Bali, to join the conversation around Conscious Consumerism in Fashion, put together by Bali Fashion Initiative. Through sharing and coming together, consciousness was raised, along with much needed awareness.
Our core values could be defined by this movement… you could say it’s our ‘why’. Why we do things the way we do. And why we believe in it.
The value we take from #FashRevWeek and this event is brought home when remembering the tragic events that spurred its inception - the Rana Plaza factory collapse, which killed 1138 people and injured many more in Bangladesh in 2013.
We at Last Layer believe in a fashion industry that values people, the environment, creativity and profit in equal measure - and will continue to do our part to take sustainable fashion forward that little bit further.
